An Interesting Weekend....

Hey world. How is everyone today on a Monday. I am fighting with Kora to get back in the groove of working and then we are putting up the tree later on today when we come back from our walk. I am half way done with the smaller of the two blankets that Zombie and Mrs Z asked me to make..

And then I actually talked to Zombie on Friday night on the phone. A very interesting person from what we talked about but the interesting poing of this is when Jeff talked to him. You know Jeff didnt like the idea of me blogging for a very long time until he talked to Zombie on Friday night. Thanks for giving him something to look forward to. He was working on his Programming all weekend long. Still doesnt have a working project but working on it slowly.. LOL.. I mean I havent seen him like he was all weekend long.

Jeff looked like a little boy with a new toy and friend to share it with. Thanks again Zombie Slayer for your help in that area.

I am doing my part in this. Jeff worked Saturday morning and he came home and went to change and straight to the computer to do his programming. He would only stop to eat and then right back at it again. He got fustrated a few times but he has dealt with so much lately at work this is a walk in the park for him. I feel so bad for him with this job he has. I mean I worry when he's out on those icy roads after it snows and then the tires he delivers are as big as a door way sometimes and some of the people he delivers to refuse to help him unload those big tires and he has almost gotten crushed more than once.

The girls enjoyed there weekend. They fought all wekend long and Kora refused to tellt he truth about her closet rod falling yesterday. She was hanging on it and she told Jeff that it just fell off the closet wall. RIGHT!!! They are both going through a phase of lying and its getting on my nerves really. Anyway we had a good weekend.

Also I am planning on getting Kora the Clifford Series for X-mas and then I have no idea's for Brianna so if any of you have an idea for a three year old that is educational or what not that is about twenty dollars that would be great. I thought books for Kora this year because she is enjoying reading and such.

Alright off we go on our walk to Wal Mart for a few items. I dont buy Chinese made things Just some cleaning soap and such. So nothing real important. Talk later my friends. Have a safe and happy Monday.

Is Jeff going to start blogging? That'll be nice. I wish "H" would, but ya got to want to. He's complained at times about me being on the computer - he forgets about disappearing for hours on end with ballgames and dollar store shopping - so I'm not going to let it bother me.
I tell him I need someone to talk with!

I noticed Toys R Us are stilling selling those dots that have the chemical in them that acts like the date rape drug and knocks little kids out. They were supposed to be pulled from the shelves, but they offered them on sale instead!!! Books are a good idea for gifts. A child that is proficient in reading has a big headstart in learning.

Sage was cranky this weekend too - I think it was all the sugar stuff we ate around Thanksgiving - and tiredness too. I have to go help him - he didn't get all his work done in school and has a TON of it and needs help.

Gardenia no Jeff doesnt care for the blog world. He likes looking at mine once in a while but he doesnt want one of his own.

That is terrible about that drug and those toys. People.

I'm glad you aren't buying Chinese products, Tweetey. Good for you! More people need to follow your example.

I haven't bought presents for any three-year-olds for years, so I can't help you with that one. :)

My son worked as a Trucker for several years. It's a very demanding and grueling job. Since Jeff is a trucker he wouldn't have the time required to run a blog anyway, unless he had a lap-top with him, but at the end of every day he would probably be too tired to mess with it.

How about Chinese puzzles? Some of them are really hard but when you get started on them, it's really hard to stop. Here are three links to some to give you an idea about them.

Gayle he works from 6:30 am till about 6:30 pm. He is home every night but very tired and just wore out. The job he has is killing him not literally but it could at any point in time if one of those tires hit him just right. It scares the shit out of me to have him out there like that.

CA thanks those puzzles were cool. I didndt play any of them but did take a look for the time being.

Most of the little kids I work with who are Bri's age, both boys and girls, love my Playskool farm. It's been around forever and can be educational AND fun. When I play with kids, I use it to teach prepositions (on/off, front/back, beside), following directions ("make the cow _____), and asking "who" questions (I have my animal knock on the barn door, and the kid has to say "who's there?", etc). You can teach other things, like singing "Old McDonald's Farm". You can also teach certain phrases and sentences by introducing novel activities. For example, there's a bed in the loft of the barn, and I started having the animals "go to bed", then we wake them up. I like to see which new routines kids can come up with on their own. With a lot of the "old standby" toys, you can teach many things, and kids love them.

I've noticed that our local Target has one of the best toy aisles -- There's tons of educational games that are organized by age group. It may be worth taking a look just to get some ideas. You could probably just look at the boxes and figure out how to make a lot of the toys.

Courtney you are absolutely right. I probably could. Jeff came up with an idea. Kora has a toy that she hasnt used in over a year now and he suggested rewrapping it for Brianna. Not sure yet. Will think about it.
