This Last Saturday Night.

I was so happy with myself this last Saturday night at work.

A co workers mother had to go to the hospital so he couldnt come in and another worker came in but she only works in the evenings till close so she isnt used to our over nights. But anyway she was suppose to keep up with the fryer and I was doing the Burger meat. Well for some dang reason she couldnt keep up with the Fryer. Well another lady I work with suggested this one goes up front and does the French Fries so the manager looks at me asks if I think I can keep up.

Well I did better than that really. It was busy and I had trays full all the time. I was so proud of myself and I impressed the manager. I told Jeff what I did and he said it would have taken most people a year or more to be able to keep up like that. I am so proud of my achievements. But then at about 3:45 I was asked to come Present the food and collect for the front people and the fill in was doing my dishes but then I was asked to go wash the French Fry Station and then the fill in went up front and clocked out on me. I didnt know where I was suppose to be and I finally broke.

I cried. I was so fustrated. The manager told me to just go home and they would finish my dishes and I told her NO. She looks at me and says HUH??? I said NO. I have to learn how to do this just need to know where you want me.. She apologized up and down and then yelled at the one lady for yelling at me all night. Long story there really.

I am not using names for that purpose. You just never know when they will look things up and find my blog. Anyway that is my most and biggest achievement for work lately. Talk to you all soon. I made rounds today and will make them tomorrow again before work. I have today off since I worked last night.

Good work Tweety! It never fails that that time you're in the zone and you think you are doing well that some difficult person will harp at you that you have failed them somehow. I'm so glad your manager stuck up for you and listened as well - you are very fortunate. You know - I'll bet you do well there (as long as they appreciate you). It's hard to get an employee that will step up and not just do the job but bust her butt for you. Believe me - your manager will be keeping her eye on you and comparing you to others and if there's a time when she can put you in a better position, she will. On the other hand, being the dependable employee also makes you the one they want there at the busiest times which are likely the weekends right?

Jeannie you hit that one right on the head.. Its hard because I work every weekend. I have to request weekends off when I want them. Its not that bad but still. Its hard leaving the girls and Jeff to go to work every single weekend.

You showed true character deciding to stay and finish your job. Hang in there. New jobs are always tough.

Tweetey, don't let that prick bully you. When the prick pushes you hard, push her back harder and knock her on her ass. That will teach her to mess with you. While doing your time at McDonald's don't let anyone see that you're soft, or else they will try to take advantage of you during all your shifts.

I'm glad your boss realized that she made a mistake and apologized.

Hi Tweety!

You were doing a good job and that other employee shouldn't have clocked out on you while you were cleaning the fryer. Good grief! That person is the one who should get reprimanded.

About not using their names, that's wise. Whenever I write about a person I know in real life I make up a name. For instance, "Billy" isn't the name of the man who works for us. You might try assigning names that you really like for people that you work with, or for - and names you hate for people you don't like.

I hate the name "Cordelia". If I ever write about a woman who is a witch from hell, she will be named "Cordelia." LOL! (Hope I made you smile.) I also hope that no one named Cordelia ever visits this post. LOL!

You're very good at work, and I like when you share with us your life at work, it is always interesting, don't be afraid of speaking your mind when you think you are right; Working at night must be hard, but you still do it happily, congratulation.

I went in last night because they were two people short again.. One of the guys his dad had a heart attack the night before and last night he stayed home with his dad and the other lady is the one bossing me around didnt come in and one of the managers..

Oh no, what an evening. Good for you. And I think you're really lucky that your supervisor stood up for you and also believed your testimony. Good stuff.

Later...this night will give you a sense of accomplishment and confidence, I promise!

tweety,
"...I told her NO. She looks at me and says HUH??? I said NO. I have to learn how to do this just need to know where you want me.."

in that one sentence you did more for yourself then you'll ever imagine. you not only met the expectations that an employer wants in an employee but you topped them.

when you understand that you'll never have to worry about self-esteem again.
