Hi all. Jeff and I wont be going on our vacation. We are even thinking about not going to Chicago this year. I have to e-mail Candy yet about that one.. We rushed into it and we just found out that Jeff's grandmother just had hip surgery. She fell and broke her hip and isnt up to company right now. We understand totally.
I was so looking forward to going but hey there is always next year if she is still around. But the girls are going to go spend some time with his mother and then in July we are thinking about letting my mom take them for a week. I dont know about that one. We will have to more than likely bring them up there and then go get them too. That is a lot of money and gas for us. I was hoping my parents could bring them home because its a ways to drive to get them from my mom's house.
Oh well we will figure something out when the time comes. But the girls are excited about going to stay with grandma A and grandma S... We will let them have them from a Saturday to Saturday next month. We will bring them to his mothers house and then come home and then his mother will bring them home the following weekend. That is how it should be really. I dont mean to have to do all the driving.
Anyway I dont have a clue when we are taking a vacation. Jeff said something about next year taking a cruise but its more a dream than anything right now.. Just dreaming on getting out and going some place. I am almost done with Helene's suprise and I need to see if she wants me to post that here or have her recieve it before she see's it on the internet..
I am hoping she likes it. I know I do and I am so proud of my work. I need to finish it up though. Its so hard not to say what it is.. But I dont want to ruin the suprise just quite yet..
One of the managers at work last night her daughter just had a baby in July and she brought her in and she was so cute. I love looking and holding but glad I can give them back now. I love my two but I am glad we are done with the diapers.. LOL.. Well I suppose I need to go start dinner. Talk to you all Monday..
Its about me and my family. Mainly me and the girls. I may twitter or tweet alot but its mostly thoughts and going ons here at home and thoughts about what we might be doing on weekend or our adventures. Sit down and Enjoy what you are reading.

Two major reliefs in my life were when each child got out of diapers - then when they no longer needed a babysitter. But then I miss the baby stage too - two to four years old is my favorite stage....
They have a thing down here that is very cool - you can go tour a condo and they will give you a free stay and also free tickets to one of the attractions in Orlando. When my older grandkids were little my daughter and her ex took their annual vacations that way just about every year!
Also a casino will sometimes offer a heck of a deal, like two nights for $24.99, a free buffet dinner - and its a great short getaway.
We put vacations off for many reasons, but it is so important if possible to get away from the hum-drum of daily life and refresh!
Sorry about your vacation and even sorrier about the broken hip! Hope that something fun turns up in the meantime---it usually does for you. Those pics that you post always look like you guys are having the time of your lives!
What you guys need to do is put $20/week away in an envelope for a vacation. By next summer you'll have enough money put away so you won't go further into debt when you take a vacation.
I agree with tshsmom - try to put some money away. Also - there are some amazing deals online. I don't know about cruises (although I'll bet they are there too) but there are a lot of ways to get cheap flights. My son just got return tickets to Vegas for $58 from Detroit. We flew to Cancun for about $250 each. There are deals on hotels too. It doesn't have to be just a dream - get some travel books to get an idea of what you'd like to do and what they normally charge then search out a deal for yourself. When you are ready, email me and I'll ask hubby where to look. Lately, the best deals we've had are with Spirit - direct from their website - if you join their club, you get even better prices and I think they even let you know when some special is on.
Strange... I'm crocheting a surprise for a friend named "Helen." It's going to be a Christmas present. It's a comforter. :)
Sorry about the vacation, but sometimes life just goes about doing what it wants to. We like to think we have control, but we often find out that we don't. Tshsmom's right about the saving. You won't even notice it that way. :)
Hang in there...either way we will get together. These are things that happen in life and who knows often there is a reason behind changes in plans.
You know Bridget Jones is right, one door closes for you and another usually opens you aren't expecting!
Knowing you guys, I don't think you'd really enjoy a cruise. Most cruise lines are pretty hoity-toity and require you to wear tuxedoes and evening gowns to dinner on certain nights. They also assign you seats at dinner. This CAN develop new friendships, but you can also get stuck with people you can't stand. Then there's the risk of seasickness...
Cruises are a lot of money for a vacation that you don't have much control over. :(
i second the idea of tshsmom also. that should be an budget item for everyone.
the thing that allows is the fact you can determine, now, how much you'll have to spend. then once known, you can begin planning a vacation based on how much you'll have to spend without going into debt.
Every girl has to have a dream. What else do we go to bed for, and then wake up in the morning for?
Sorry to hear that we won't be meeting you this fall, and also hoping that grandma heals quickly. We had to cancel our vac. last summer - it was very hard to do because we had been looking forward to it for so long.
For cruises, just my opinion, don't go Carnival. Troll and I did that one year and it was a nightmare. Yuck. I've heard that from many who have been on Carnival cruises. One day we may try a different cruise line...
That's too bad about the vacation. Maybe next year.
