We had to cancel our vac. last summer - it was very hard to do because we had been looking forward to it for so long.

For cruises, just my opinion, don't go Carnival. Troll and I did that one year and it was a nightmare. Yuck. I've heard that from many who have been on Carnival cruises. One day we may try a different cruise line...Grizzly Mamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04140654835381345450noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36979815.post-61190628210965641152008-09-15T05:36:00.000-04:002008-09-15T05:36:00.000-04:00Every girl has to have a dream. Most cruise lines are pretty hoity-toity and require you to wear tuxedoes and evening gowns to dinner on certain nights. They also assign you seats at dinner. This CAN develop new friendships, but you can also get stuck with people you can't stand. Then there's the risk of seasickness...
Cruises are a lot of money for a vacation that you don't have much control over. :(tshsmomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08637635755654078408noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36979815.post-38273020496047363042008-09-14T13:53:00.000-04:002008-09-14T13:53:00.000-04:00Hang in there...either way we will get together. It's a comforter. :)

Sorry about the vacation, but sometimes life just goes about doing what it wants to. We like to think we have control, but we often find out that we don't. Tshsmom's right about the saving. Also - there are some amazing deals online. I don't know about cruises (although I'll bet they are there too) but there are a lot of ways to get cheap flights. My son just got return tickets to Vegas for $58 from Detroit. We flew to Cancun for about $250 each. There are deals on hotels too. It doesn't have to be just a dream - get some travel books to get an idea of what you'd like to do and what they normally charge then search out a deal for yourself. When you are ready, email me and I'll ask hubby where to look. Lately, the best deals we've had are with Spirit - direct from their website - if you join their club, you get even better prices and I think they even let you know when some special is on.Jeanniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15320507412459242451noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36979815.post-63792267371106479652008-09-14T08:49:00.000-04:002008-09-14T08:49:00.000-04:00What you guys need to do is put $20/week away in a...What you guys need to do is put $20/week away in an envelope for a vacation. When my older grandkids were little my daughter and her ex took their annual vacations that way just about every year!

Also a casino will sometimes offer a heck of a deal, like two nights for $24.99, a free buffet dinner - and its a great short getaway.

We put vacations off for many reasons, but it is so important if possible to get away from the hum-drum of daily life and refresh!Gardeniahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06233358355888022857noreply@blogger.com
