HOW DARE SHE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is an e-mail I got from Ruth after e-mailing her and asking if she wanted to get together and wanting to spend time with her. I guess this proves how she feels about me and our relationship. I am done with her and I wash my hands of her from this day forward. I am not contacting her anymore after this. I will continue to find the children Pen Pals but that is it. I have nothing more to do with her.

I hadnt planned on posting today but this e-mail hurt me really. Anyway some good news is that we took the girls with us last night when we went to play Raquetball and we let Kora play for a bit and she did awsome. Of course I forgot the damn camera. We were even showing Bri how to play. She hit the ball a few times but not the way you were suppose to hit it. At least she hit it and Kora was getting really good right before we had to leave.

I suppose. I am tired and I have to work tonight. Talk to you all soon. N...

NO YOU DIDN'T UPSET ME BUT YOU DISAPPOINTED ME. I BROKE MY SPECTS AND I WENDY JUST HELPED ME TO GLUE THEM UP, I COULD NOT LOOK ON THE SCREEN, SO I DIDN'T READ YOUR EMAIL TILL TODAY.

YOU HOPE...OH WHAT A WORD!! I LOVE TO BE BUSY MADAM BUT I CAN'T AND I HAPPY FOR YOU SINCE YOU ARE BUSY. GETTING TOGETHER WOULD BE BAD BUT FOR WHAT?? I HAVE ALOT OF PAIN IN ME BECAUSE I AM THINKING ABOUT MY CHILDREN AND WHAT THEY ARE GOING THROUGH, I FAILED TO GO BACK BEFORE MUCH.. SO I DON'T WANT TO GET TOGETHER BUT THANKS

She's got some nerve! Sounds to me like she expected way too much of you and then rather than realizing she was asking/expecting too much and realizing how much you'd already done for her, she decided to find someone else to sponge off of. She should have come here with a plan, with resources to do what she wanted, with contacts of people who could potentially be donors, etc. Instead, she weasled her way into your house and expected you to lay all the groundwork for her that she should have done for herself before leaving her country. She has no right to be angry and the fact that she is just shows how selfish and lazy she is. The good Lord helps them who help themselves and she should have helped herself a little bit more instead of expecting others to do everything for them. Then she has the nerve to treat you badly because she didn't get what she wanted. Wash your hands of her is right!

Vancouver Voyeur is exactly right, Tweety, and I understand why you would be feeling hurt, but don't. You live and learn, so just consider it a lesson.

I'm not saying you should never trust anyone either. Maybe you will decide to try this again someday, but if you do, at least you will know to ask some important questions first, like: "Do you have adequate funds for things like long distance telephone calls while you are here?" She would have stuck you with a big phone bill if you hadn't managed to get it removed. Considering how she treated you when she left, I would say that you are trying to work on sainthood by asking her if she wants to meet you.

Like I said before, she thought you were rich because many foreigners think all Americans are rich and our streets are paved with gold! She must have been really ticked off to find out that you're not rich. Too bad! Just be happy she's gone. :)

Oh Tweety - this sounds so abrupt - but consider that she is from a different culture, the correspondence was email (leaving so many components of actual communication out - eye contact, body language, response, etc.) - perhaps it is not as it comes across.

Just hold on and wait and see.

Nevertheless, you did everything out of a heart to help these kids and God will honor that for you, don't let this spoil that for you, ok?

Perhaps instead of her being a calculating user, she just didn't know what to do or to expect. Maybe she had some idea that everyone here in the States would know how to and be able to do everything for her.

I'm sorry that it hurt you. Believe it or not, it's actually more healing to have compassion for her. That will help you in the long run. Holding hurt feelings will only make baggage for you.

I'm not trying to make light of your pain. I'm just hoping that you are able to work past it and see what you might have learned that made you an even better person than you already are.

Hugs in the meantime. :-)

I have trouble understanding what she is saying in parts so I can't say I can tell her intention. But it seems to come through clear enough that she did not consider you a friend at all but a resource that has been used up. Good luck to her if she burns her bridges this easily. Do not feel hurt. You felt you were building a personal relationship while she was merely doing business at your expense. Pat yourself on the back for doing what you could but put your efforts where they will be appreciated next time.

I'm not exactly sure what she's saying here because her English is pretty mangled, but the word "ungrateful" and "demanding" have come to my mind many times when you've told us about this woman. I realize she probably feels very pressured to support her orphanage, but she needs to learn some social skills!! I don't blame you one bit for washing your hands of her. I'd do the same. I'm willing to help people to a certain extent, but when someone gets help over and above what they should expect (which is what you guys gave Ruth), I expect some civility.

Eh, fuck her tweets..
I'm sure she didnt realize how rude she was coming across in her email..but still.

you could have told her she owed you 1500 for telephone bills ..

Hey Tweets, how do you "follow" a blog? I wanted to follow your blog as well as some others but I don't know how to do it.

VV is right. It's amazing how 'using' some folk can be. I am very sorry that she treated you so poorly, Tweety. There IS such a thing as karma, and that one's in for some pretty rude awakenings.

Don't let her get to you. Keep being you.
