Life Vs. NonLife..

Hi all. I have read so many blogs lately about our famous Octo Mom and Abortion in general. I dont know where to run with this but its been on my mind lately. I as a mother of two of my own children. I sometimes have a hard time having enough time for my own two. I couldnt imagine having 14 children to have to make time for in one 24 hour period. Esp 8 new infants. Since they need so much more attention than an older child does. Lots of people have said that the dr is responsible for her being impregnated with the last eight embyro's. Maybe he is but again it was her choice to have them all implanted..

I see it as wrong to have that many children esp with no job and how are you going to take care of that many children but again as a mother I love my kids and I bet she loves all of hers also. But when is to much to much??? I mean come on people most people I know say that five is good enough now adays but with the economy being as it is why have that many kids??

Now on to another very sensitive topic for me is abortion. I dont believe a woman should be able to have it. I believe if a woman gets pregnant they should have to give the baby up for adoption. I know there are many children in Orphanages or on the streets because the mothers chose to give the child life instead of aborting it. But you have to remember that after 28 days the heart is beating. It may not have feet and hands and a body yet but the heart is the first organ to come alive basically.

I dont know. I am picking my battles with these two topics here and together for more reasons than I know. I guess I see it as if a woman wants to play she should really be protected from getting pregnant. Now if a woman gets raped there is an option but I still highly believe you could give up the baby then even. Some woman have chose to keep the baby after being raped but wouldnt you wonder why it happened every time you look at the child.

I guess what I am saying is that even after the 28 days most women dont know they are pregnant till then. Most women dont know they are pregnant till they are almost two months along. Then its like killing a child because its heart is beating. Or that is my opinion. Anyway I am going to leave this here and if anyone wants to dispute it that is fine. But these are thoughts and opinions not facts or medically inclined on anything else..

I have a question. I have noticed my little tweety isnt showing up most of the time now. Anyways suggestions on how to change that??? thanks if you do.

You've chosen quite the controversial topic! I would agree that abortion is wrong and in an ideal world, should never be allowed to happen. However, we don't live in an ideal world. There are women who don't agree with us who would choose to end the life of the child in any way possible regardless. I don't think they should have to risk death to do so. While I can't say I agree with terminating the life of a severely handicapped child either, I would find it very difficult to care for such an individual and the cost of education is very high as they get a much higher teacher/student ratio plus/or the high cost of institutional care. I am grateful that this was not a decision I had to make as I'm not sure where I would stand. Therefore, I'm not prepared to tell someone else that she has to carry that child to term.

I don't know what should have been done with all the embryos but I don't think the mother of 8 should have been allowed to have all of them implanted at once. I don't understand how she managed to have the expensive in vitro if they couldn't afford to have so many children any way. Irresponsible.

Good post.

I'm a firm believer in choice. There are many reasons a woman (or young girl) would want or need to end a pregnancy. Some of these are health-related. When we start restricting abortion for various reasons then women suffer because the whole thing gets too tangled in legalities.

I feel that if you don't believe in abortion then you shouldn't have one. But I still feel it should be legal and safe. Thanks for bringing up a difficult and controversial topic. I'm guessing there will be a lot of ideas coming up here.

Don't know how to help you with your Tweety, though.

Brave Tweety taking on that one. I'm with Jeannie. Am pro choice but would not, hope not, have to adopt that route.

Re the mom of 14, well I guess it's her business mostly but since when do people have litters? Hope the kids turn out to be normal human beings.

Good for you for speaking your mind and stepping forward on a topic that most people are too scared to broach. I don't share your beliefs, but that's okay. For me, I want to be able to decide what to do with my body, I don't want the government, doctors or churches telling what to do. For me, pregnancy takes place inside my body, not in government offices, doctor's offices, or churches, but inside me. That said, I really don't know if I could go through with an abortion, but I do want it to be up to me, I don't want to be forced to do something I don't agree with. I support your decision and your beliefs about abortion and I actually think, personally, that life begins at conception, so while I might not like abortions and I might never have one, for me, it's my body and I will decide what happens to it. I'm proud of you for taking a stand on this. There's so much heat that comes with it. I hope your commenters are kind.

Two tough subjects.
My opinion: Well, I think the Doctor WAS irresponsible. He could have said NO to implanting these embryo's....ESPECIALLY knowing she already had 6 children....
As to Abortion: I am Pro Choice. This decision is a tough one and I don't think anyone makes it lightly. But I believe every woman should have the right to decide what she wants to do with her own body.

Personally, I think all this freezing of Eggs and Sperm is really crazy. This is NOT the naturalm order of things and I feel Science has now become Science-Fiction. To FREEZE living Human matter---How do you feel about that?

Wow! We totally agree on everything.
Great minds think alike,they say.
I know, from having 2 kiddo's that it DOES take alot of time and attention to basically care for each child...but 16 kiddo's? I'm pretty sure the Octo Mom DOES love each and every one,but having the time to give each one the REAL one-on-one time they deserve,is gona be REALLY tough.
As far as abortion.I'm SO with you on that as well....I'm ashamed to admit something though.I went to an abortion doctor when I wound up pregnant the 2nd time and the father was just downright abusive, and well...I KNEW I anted out of that marriage. So I went and paid for half of the abortion, then went and talked to my Grandmother about going back for the 2nd visit. We prayed about it and I promise,it was almost like God spoke to me through my Grandma. What I kept hearing in my head was "MURDER"!! I never even went back and asked for the half payment I made. When I look at my daughter now,I can't believe I actually almost aborted her.
I just believe that if God didn't want a baby to be in the womb, that baby wouldn't be there.Living, like you said, with a heartbeat for Pete's sake.
That's just my opinion, and everyone has the right to their opinion.
Another sensative view is the death penalty.I don't believe in it.Why? Because only God is the true Judge.Even though the Bible says "an eye for an eye"....I think making someone suffer the rest of their natural born life is what a murderer or rapist deserves.
Ok- so that wasn't part of this post...just thought I'd throw in another controversial topic.I have a poll on that issue on my blog, btw.
Oh...thanks for your care and concern.I'm really gone miss my roomate. As a matter of fact, she and I would be having coffee right now.May she rest in peace.I appreciate your comment.Your such a totally thoughtful person.

I am totally Pro Choice! However I tend to think the abortion laws in regards to the time you can wait before having an abortion are wrong. In some states it is six months! I think by the second month your heart would be telling you what to do!

I have personally experienced the "back room abortion clinic" behind the Pawn Shop, in a dank dark room and pray that we never go back to that ever, ever again!

By the way I was so terrified, and in such a state they had to take me out of there, and seven moths later I gave birth to a baby girl.
