I Miss My Girls Already

I miss them already and they have only been gone four hours from me.. I cant stop the tears from flowing.. Just some thoughts on the subject. We have been home for an hour and all I can do is cry. We left at 8 PM from his mothers house tonight and the look Kora gave us when we pulled out the drive way.

I know they will be ok but I miss them any way. I have been the one taking care of them for the last 7 years not someone else. I have never left them for more than few hours with anyone else. this feels strange. I should be down stairs with my hubby but I hate him seeing me like this. Crying and sappy looking. I try to be brave for him also.

The dang cat even cuddled up to me wondering where the girls were. You should have seen the look on her face when we walked in the house. It was puzzlement. Well I suppose. I need to go spend sometime with my hubby. We dont get much alone time and I might as well take advantage of that. We are planning on more racquet ball tomorrow afternoon. Fun Fun in the sun for us. Hope you all have had a great weekend up to now. Sorry to sound so sad but I miss them already... Six days till they come home again but still its going to feel like a life time. Catch up with you all on Monday afternoon when I wake up..

I know how you feel. Our kids used to spend the weekend at the cabin with their grandparents. The first day was fine. L and I had time to spend quality time together, and we could get the house totally picked up. By the 2nd day, the quiet was driving me crazy.

Use the time to catch up on your sleep.

I must be a bad Mom - I loved every minute I got to be away from my kids - it didn't happen very often. I think we were married ten years before I got even a night away.

Enjoy your time alone together.

Racquetball is great exercise. Will help you keep your mind off of your kids. Have fun doing that.

I a granny who had NEVER the chance to look after her grand sons, I have only one word to say: congratulation.
Another word to say I am jaleous and I envy the lucky grand mum who is going to enjoy her grand daughter all by herself, it is something very common in France, apparently not in the rest of the world.
The sadness you feel now, I have been feeling it since my grand children were born.
So try to enjoy yourself and spent quality time with Jeff. They will be okay with granny.

This is a step toward inevitable independence for them - which will come more and more often as time goes on. Don't think it gets any easier though. Even with grandkids, its a hard time pulling away during the periods you don't see them. Sigh.

Cheer up! You're just practicing for 15 years from now when the absence may be permanent!'chuckle'

Hope you're surviving the quiet house. It's an adjustment, but try to revel in the alone time while you have it.

I bet the girls will have a great time with their grandmom...is this a mini vacation for them? Or was it that you and Jeff wanted some time alone?

Will you be going somewhere? Raquetball sounds like fun! I've never tried it, but it does sound like a good time.
