Hi there. I promised a post of my trip home to Minnesota so here we go. I wont say where my home town in Minnesota is exactly because of a fellow blogger that I know personally lives there too. So I will just say Minnesota. Or MN for those of you that know. Jeff and I have been planning on this trip for a few months now. We were going to stay at the Holiday Inn but were talking about it yesterday.
We almost cancelled our trip until I got thinking that we had our tent and we might as well make a camping trip out of this besides visiting with family and friends. So we are going to go camping and visiting. Our first night there my mom is going to meet us at the camp ground with Potato Salad and paper plates and Jeff and I are going to bring hamburger and chips for supper. We are going to cook out and set up the tent and just relax. Yayyy.
You know we were going to spend 200 dollars at the Holiday Inn and now with camping we are only going to spend 15 dollars a night. 12 dollars for the spot and 3 dollars for electricity. Not bad. Alot cheaper this way. We are also thinking about buying a new air mattress if I cant fix the one we have. You just never know with me. I am persistant.. That is me... I dont give up easily.
Well on this note we are going to make a trip out of it. We are planning on stopping in Duluth Minnesota to visit my younger half brother if he has time. Then he will be able to meet the girls for the first time and the girls him for the first time. They are so excited to be sleeping in the tent. They love swimming but they loved it when we put the tent up this last summer and they slept in it more than we did. We would leave the back door open and they would come in and go pee and then go back out to go back to sleep. So cute..
But anyway then off to my home town to see Tshsmom and a few other friends and my parents. I have made up my mind to see M and M. I told my mother to tell them that they could come visit but if Mr M couldnt keep his trap shut he could leave. So they may not even show up. I am sick of there shit. I am an adult and dont have to put up with it. Mr. M used to threaten by putting his big ex brother in law on us because he is a cop.. So Jeff doesnt like him very much. Jeff doesnt like to be threatened even jokingly. I dont blame him. Anyway I am so looking forward to visiting with my friends and what family I have left up there.
My godmother will finish the quilts I asked her to make when we get there. She is so nice about. She says this will be the last time she sews anything for anyone though. Her hands are getting so sore. She is just about ready to retire herself. Her husband retired this last year sometime. In 2007 sometime. Not sure when. I am so excited that if we could go tomorrow I would pack us up and go go go... LOL...
That Girl I am still having problems getting into your blog for some dang reason. I have no idea why. I have accepted your invitation but it still says there is an error. I am quite dumbfounded on that one... Anyway Jeff's b-day was yesterday. I dont have his pix of his cake put in the computer yet. Laura was suppose to help me do the cake but she ended up with the flu and couldnt help me. So I went down there about two yesterday and asked for my stuff back. It didnt turn out the way I had imagined it would but Jeff liked it as it was. He said the thought was what counted. I frosted it all white and then put green lines on it for the squares. But how I wanted it done was with every other square filled in with Green frosting..But it turned out ok for the time being. I have two new photo's of Snowy. He is growing up so big since my first photo of him. Every time we go down there and I take him out of the bin he sleeps in with his sister he likes Brianna better than he likes Kora for some reason. Its cute to watch because he will crawl over Kora's lap to get to Bri.
I got a letter from my real dad today he is counting down the days until he see's us. We are stopping to see him on our way home since he will be right in our path on the way home to Green Bay in May. So anyway that is what is going on here for now. Talk to you all soon. Tweets...
Its about me and my family. Mainly me and the girls. I may twitter or tweet alot but its mostly thoughts and going ons here at home and thoughts about what we might be doing on weekend or our adventures. Sit down and Enjoy what you are reading.

Camping is so much fun for kids - and the fact that it's quite a bit cheaper - if you already have the tent and stuff - is a bonus. Good luck with your plans.
Did you get Jeff's afghan done?
Jeannie no I havent. I havent even started it yet. I will talk to him when we get going on our trip to Minnesota. Maybe he will let me have some more yarn to start it. Those hours in the car will need to be kept busy. I love driving and traveling but have to keep my hands busy when not driving the car.
Wow! Is it warm enough to camp up there? We are dropping to 30 degrees tonight here in Florida - crazy, crazy weather.
I hope the visit goes ok - and there are no threats - I'm with Jeff - I don't cotton to being threatened either - it brings out my cougar claws.
Anyway I wish I was there with you to meet up with Tshsmom too - wouldn't that be fun! Well, tell her hi and hugs - guess I can tell her myself on line.
Happy belated birthday to Jeff. I'm sure the cake was very good. I am pleased that you are able to make this trip to MN and see your family, no wonder everyone is looking forward the long journey. I think it's difficult to get the mattress fixed, you fix it yourself and you will finish your night with no air between yourself and the floor, you both won't be in good mood to start your day. Better buy a new one if it is not too expensive.
Camping's a good idea. Much cheaper than a hotel, and usually more fun. Bring lots of blankets in case it's still chilly!
We'll finally be doing some camping (after a couple years of not having the chance), when we meet up with Richard's family on Vancouver Island this summer. Yay!
Happy birthday to Jeff!
Camping is so much more fun than the Holiday Inn - that is if you enjoy camping, which I do. I'm sure it will be a lot more fun for your girls.
Good luck with that air mattress! :)
Gardenia its going to be chilly but we are planning on bringing extra blankets and the four of us huddled up together will keep us warm.
Kitem that is exactly what we are afraid of. I hate sleeping on the ground anyway.. We will figure somethign out.
SME I love camping but this is our first try at it together. My parents used to take me a friend almost all summer long when I was kid.
Gayle this gives the girls more appeiciation for the outdoors than they already have.
You're gonna freeze your buns off!!
Do you have a small electric heater you can put in the tent?
The BEST you can hope for in night-time temps this time of year is 40F. I can't believe that the campground is opening before fishing opener.
Tshmom no but we are going to pick one up. That is exactly what Jeff and I were talking about last night.
We tent camped in Minnesota a lot over the years. It is great family fun. But, in my old age,
the Holiday Inn heats up faster in the morning than trying to get a campfire going in the frost. :)
BB-Idaho long time no see. Sure would be nice to be able to see your blog sometime but noticed its private... Yes I love camping. but we all do what we can afford.
I am slow in catching up...but this sounds like an ambitious visit with lots of people to see. I absolutely love it that you are going to camp...is it warm enough now or do you have very warm sleeping bags? Look forward to hearing how the trip plays out...
I love camping too and having everything outside! I could live in a tipi if I had the chance.
I see now you do have good sleeping bags and you are so adventurous! Wonderful!
Candy we bought a tent last summer with the sleeping bags that came with the tent. Its going to be a bit chilly so we are going to buy a space heater and that will help.
